New bag =D

I've been wanting a new bag for forever >.< I'm really picky in choosing bags, but this one was really nice, and I haven't seen a lot of people walking around with this one yet. The brand's name is: Protest

The outside:
(lol, I know it looks weird now, the shape but in real life it's rectangular)

The inside:
I like the blocks :3

I'm so happy my sister found this, lol she finds so many nice stuff (>.<) finding this bag made my day =D. And normally I'm not a fan of studs, but since there aren't many on this one I don't mind, they are in the right place.

I think I'm going to use this bag for school and for shopping. But I don't dare to put so many books in >.< (why do we have to carry so many books :/ there are days that I have to carry like 7 books to school =-=)
The bag has 2 short straps and 1 longer. Which is good, because I don't think it's very convenient to cycle with a heavy bag on your shoulder with just the 2 straps,,, (if you get what I mean, I suck in explaining >.<) so, when I cycle I use the longer strap.

I can't wait to use my bag =D, I still want to create a nice hanger to hang on the zipper though~

I hope it won't break like super fast but yeah, does faux leather break easily?

Have a great turn of the year and I hope you won't hurt yourself with firework, if you fire some >.<

Did you know?: Skin

OK, so I get the feeling that you fellas out there are interested in information about skin. So I've listed some skin facts below. I also learn quite a few new things from this ;) Let's get nerdy!

Did you know:

  1. That your skin is considered as the largest organ of your body? (Holy moly, I didn't know that, I didn't even know skin could be considered as an organ, I'm such a smartass)
  2. The skin on your eyes is the thinnest? So be careful with the skin (and your eyes!) because that skin is so vulnerable :o, treat your eyes with eye cream (yay!) and try to not rub, even though it's freaking difficult when your eye itches like hell, but try to think: "If I rub, my eyes will swell up like hell" or if you have contact lenses: "If I rub, my contacts will fall out  >_<" ;)
  3. Goose bumps are actually small pimples that help your body retain a layer of warm air? I knew that goose bumps were to help your body retain some warmth (though I don't feel a thing, still very cold with goose bumps) but I didn't know they could be considered as pimples? (am I stupid :'))
  4. After you take a very hot shower (it's wintertime, understandable that you want to take a hot shower, I guess), the red parts on your skin, are actually first-grade burns? (you get what I mean?) Luckily I never take a hot shower, never. I'm an eco-girl :3 (yay) and I don't torture my skin by burning them ;)
  5. Your skin is made out of a protein called keratin? Keratin is also found in your hair and nails.
  6. The skin of an average adult weighs 9 lbs/4.1 kg and is about 21 sqft/1.95 m big
  7. That your body odour is caused by bacteria eating and digesting fatty compounds? OH YEAH! ...
  8. That your breasts are a modified version of your apocrine sweat glands? (glands that give you that nice body odour >_<)
  9. 50.000 cells fall off your skin every minute? (don't notice a thing xd)
  10. The white skin appeared 20.000-50.000 years ago, because dark-skinned people migrated to colder cities and their skin lost a lot of its melanin pigment (melanin gives you your skin colour and is found in the epidermis, I think?)
(lol, this reminds me of biology in first form >.<)

Hehe, I feel like a biology expert now (not...) I do remember I had to study some skin things for biology once, guess I forgot all about that, except for the fact that your skin has 3 major layers and I knew that there was an epidermis and a dermis...

You fellas are all skin nerds now. Muahuahua!

Priorities

I have so many stuff I want to buy right now. It's just too much, I can't ask for all that in one shot, my dad would go broke >.<. I have to set priorities. What has my 1st priority and which stuff can be bought later on.

  1. Skin care. I want to buy a good cleanser. 100% Natural one because I kinda feel more confident when it's natural and doesn't have all the chemical crap. I feel skin care is basics. You can buy all the make-up you want but if you have a bad skin, I feel that it doesn't get the maximum beauty out of you.
  2. Hmm... let me think. I think I'll go for make-up here. I have quite a lot of clothes already :') and I want to order from YesStyle but last time we had to pay import costs >_< bought so many stuff (my sis did). I don't need many make-up, it's actually just because my sis wants some lip crayons and I'm kinda dragged into this :') but I do wanna buy concealer, just from the drugstore or so. OR lipgloss from NYX, they have some real cute colours there :3
  3. Then my last priority will be clothes. I'm still hoping YesStyle will do something like free shipping or so >_< and maybe I shouldn't make it this expensive this time.
I'm kinda curious here. If you want to buy stuff, what things will you buy first? Make-up, skincare or clothes? I wanna know!

Caring for your skin

I've already said this many times: It's WINTER! And over here it's a freakin' damn cold winter! That means dry skin, for most people. I'm partly one of those people: the skin on my body is dry and on my face it's still greasy.

When your skin is dry you have to put body lotion or body butter on. If you're feeling lazy and think: "Well, I'm too lazy to do that." I'll tell you something that has happened to me because I didn't put body lotion on.

After summer holidays I thought. I want to get rid of this tanned colour (yeah, I'm one of those believers that fairer skin is more beautiful), my mother told me that if you put body lotion on that your tan will actually stay better and part of me could believe that story because previous years I kept putting body lotion on, I thought it'd be better for my skin since I suffered from eczema in the past (look, I'm not perfect ;)). But now I still have my tanned colour from like more than 2 years ago! I won't say that putting body lotion on will really keep your tanned skin intact, but it does prevent your skin from completely, let's say, peeling off.

So I didn't put body lotion on for a very long time. But then winter came, it became colder... and colder... And my skin on my lower leg really BURST. I'm being serious here, it actually burst. You could see the blood in the burst lines (OK, this sounds gross but it didn't look that bad as it may sound) Does this experience of me make you put body lotion/body butter on every evening before going to bed? I hope so...

Bursting is actually the worst-case scenario, I think (I actually dunno x'D)? But before that it could also start itching, a sign, a scream for help, your skin wants food or simply said body lotion or body butter! Knowing me, I start scratching and there I have rash on my legs/arms/back/side/tummy wherever it's dry. Does this experience of me want you to put body lotion or body butter on before going to bed?

(skin boost :D)

At the moment I'm using Garnier Skin Naturals: Bodyrepair. It says that it'll help against the dry and rough skin. Well, my experience. It kinda work, basic lotion. Only thing is, I'm allergic to it, exception are my under legs... *Sigh* I have a sensitive skin...

So I can't use that body lotion on my skin. Instead I use a cream I got from the pharmacy. I've already had it for a very long time (also used in the time I had eczema). It's good, my skin isn't itchy anymore after I've completely rubbed it on myself.

It's almost New Year and it's time for thinking of new resolutions again. One of them will most likely be: "Put body lotion on every night before going to bed." Even though I told all those experiences you'd think that I rub myself with body lotion every night. Problem is: Laziness... Hehe, after a hard day at school I just want to sleep, sleep, sleep. Take a shower, brush my teeth, wash face and so on (I'm not lazy enough to skip that part) and I'm in bed (I'm actually such a hypocrite) Should fix these habits...

So, let's get rubbing(?) lol. Keep your skin healthy and prevent it from bursting and itching like (hell) on my under legs...

Amigurumi

I did some amigurumi last year, but I quickly stopped... Lazy xD. But since it's Christmas Holidays right now, I feel like getting really creative and started it again. Here are some things I made (and please, don't judge me :') I know it's a bit crooked and I kinda failed but yeah, let's see this as my first try ;)) Click for more =D

Drama recommendation

Firstly I'll say, I won't do these things often. I don't watch drama a lot and haven't seen many yet. But this one was just so good! It really changed my way of thinking. You should really watch it when you feel useless, because I think it could give you strength... I feel like it had a great impact on me.

The name is 1 Litre of Tears (Ichi Rittoru no Namida). The drama is about a girl Aya who gets an incurable disease. In this drama you get to see what the disease does with her. I'll tell you, this is a true story, this was based on a diary written by the girl herself (maybe this is why it also left a great impression on me, it happened forreal)

This drama made me cry. Hell yeah, I cried! Every episode, it was just so hard to see. I didn't even know the girl and these people were just acting, but it hurt me inside. Every time you see it getting worse... It could do so much with someone. Further, I almost never cry because of movies/dramas everything. E.g. I didn't cry at the end of the Titanic (I know, this is also a terrible event, but maybe I was just too small at that time to cry...?)

What else can I say...? Just watch it, because it's so beautiful and sad at the same time. And if you're one of those bullies, maybe you'll think in a different way after this.

Having a clearer, healthy skin

I'm just like you guys. I live a normal life and I have blemishes. I won't say it's acne (except if you call every blemish you get, acne). My skin is not as bad as someone with acne has. I know I shouldn't complain because there are people with severe acne and suffer from it for a very long time (and of course there are worse stuff than you skin breaking out or so) Deep down everyone wants to have a clear skin, I think. Not everyone is blessed with it unfortunately. But people can't have everything, that's something that I've had to accept over these years. I have a sister, and she has quite severe acne, I'd say, but I think she looks amazing and is amazing for the remaining parts. As I said earlier, I don't suffer from acne but I do have blemishes on my face, I don't have as much as my sister has. But I'm not as amazing as her. One day we also had a discussion: What would you rather have; a nice, slim body with an ugly face full of blemishes or a fat body with a clean, beautiful face. And as expected she chose for the 2nd option and I chose for the 1st one. As an argument she used: "If you have a fat body, you can always work on that. Blemishes won't go away no matter what you try, for my feeling."

Well, the truth is, neither will go away except if you use plastic surgery or really heavy treatments against acne (for the real REAL severe ones, otherwise you'll just have to buy good expensive stuff), but let's not go that far. I'm not as skinny as a lot of those Asians are. I work hard to lose weight but it just doesn't work. I'm too easily tempted with food. I kept telling her that losing weight isn't easy, you do have to work hard for it and you have to have a lot of discipline. Don't eat crisps/chips (only once in a while), don't eat too much chocolate, don't eat too many cookies. I know for sure that if she was fat, she couldn't resist all that.

OK, I was getting a bit too carried away I guess. Let's get back to business. Some things that I use for a better skin:

  • Every day I take in brewer's yeast. Yeast is a source of B-complex vitamins. They help to maintain the muscles used for digestion and keep the skin, liver, hair eyes and mouth healthy. Apparently it could also help with weight loss (never knew that O.O shame on me) but there's no real proof of that, yet. Though scientists do say it helps with weight management.
  • I wash my face in the morning and evening. This one is logical. Of course you wash your face every morning and evening. Wash off all those damn bacteria and feel clean ;)
  • Use a good cleanser. I have to admit, I'm being a bit of a hypocrite now, because I also don't use a proper cleanser yet :o shame on me again. I'm thinking of buying one from The Beauty Bakery, 100% natural and not super expensive.
  • I'm not sure if this really helps but, drink a lot especially water and tea (without sugar to be extra healthy ;)). I try to drink at least 1.5 L a day. When you make a real habit out of it you won't drink anything else at home.
  • As for tea I drink Oolong and Green tea. They could both help with weight loss and have antioxidants, though I have not confirmed the part about weight loss yet, probably because I still eat too much :o. Green tea could also lower the risk of cardiovascular diseases and cancer.
  • I try to get at least 8 hours of sleep. Saying this will also make me kind of a hypocrite. On school days I almost never get 8 hours of sleep, I'm just too busy or have been lazing around for too long and still have to do homework just before going to bed :') hehe. Getting enough sleep doesn't only give your skin the peace it needs, it also contributes to reducing your dark circles, a bit, they still don't disappear after sleeping for so many hours with me :') Genes...
  • Avoid greasy- and fast food. Is quite doable for me... Maybe my new motivation? Telling myself it's better when I don't eat French fries because it's better for my skin AND better for losing weight.
(seeing this makes me hungry :p)

Let's get healthy-nyan!

Nyoro~n

edit: PS. I forgot to mention, Omega 3 is also good for your skin (and your brain ;)) Let's eat fish yay!

Merry Christmas!

Hello,

I just wanted to say... Merry Christmas! (Ok, that was expected) But I also wanted to say: Vrolijk Kerstfeest, Feliz Navidad, Kung His Hsin Nien Bing Chu Shen Tan (I admit, this one was copied), Joyeux Noel, Kurisumasu omedetto!

Enjoy your meal, be happy, be thankful for being alive, be thankful for having family and enjoy the cosiness of being together

By the way, over here it's a white Christmas, how is it in your country?

Japanese Fashion Magazines: Inspiration from Popteen?

Here are some sources of my inspiration hope they´ll inspire you too!

Yay for the oversized, knit vests. And the blocked pants. They look awesome! In magazines they always look so cute. The hairdo, the glasses and the hats. It makes me love curly hair and want to wear hats, not only to keep my ears warm but also because it looks cute :3 (gives me the idea: I should sew a bow on my hat, makes it a lot cuter :D) Click for more!

My current make-up wish list

I'm not really into make-up (yet) because I'd rather not wear heavy make-up to school or so, like eye-shadow (eyeshadow doesn't have to be heavy though, but I always get the feeling it'll cost time (yay, for lazy people who just want to sleep and are always in a hurry in the morning)

But things like foundation, concealer, lip gloss and maybe light-coloured lipstick (not heavy like red or so) are things I could wear to school (or even a highlighter for that healthy glow)
So things that I want at the moment:

  •  Foundation, powder foundation, not liquid because my skin becomes quite oily during the day)
  •  Concealer, liquid, I have quite dark bags under my eyes, but they're not really puffy I'd say (I've seen pretty bad ones so... As for the brand I've been thinking about Maybelline
  • Light-coloured lip gloss, I'd like a sweet light pink colour, looks so cute (though I have a slight feeling you'll hardly see anything on my lips itself but... it always looks so cute those light colours
I don't really want lipstick, at the moment I favour lip gloss more, but maybe I'll be in a phase later, that I wear a lot of lipstick, who knows.

Also, I'm very into expensive make-up (yet) I think that if you can find good stuff in drugstores then it's good. But of course some expensive brands are better than drugstores (even I believe that) like MAC, even though expensive doesn't have to mean it's good. I think a 14-year old girl needs expensive make-up like that (though if it's skincare it's quite normal if someone that age with severe acne buys expensive brands because he/she has tried all the cheaper brands and it just didn't work. Now I'm talking about skincare, absolutely don't buy Clearasil! There are lots of people out there thinking Clearasil helps you get rid of your blemishes but it doesn't! It's just chemical crap and my sister and me tried it, but it didn't work, I still had the same amount of blemishes)

OK, on-topic again... xD For me, just nude stuff, no heavy make-up. Also no lip plumpers for me. I think my lips are already big enough (>.<) I actually don't like my thick lips (O.O)

I also think that this wish list will be there for a long time. My dad always gives me this look when I want to buy beauty stuff, like: "You don't need all this stuff, stop wasting my money" or so xD LOL

What's your wish list considering make-up? Tell me~ ! I'd love to know yours.

Nyoro~n xoxo-ies

edit: I also forgot to mention eye brow pencil. I think it's also wearable to school if you apply it correctly, but I'm still such a noob in those things, I still have to learn a lot in that area ;)

Ninja fail!

My NINJA fail!!

GAWWRR RAWWRR! ATTACK!!
(this is what I mean with random :3)

Nosing through my parents' closet and I'm crocheting a scarf?

Yesterday evening my sister was searching for clothes in my parents' closet. She came back with a pile of stuff and she brought a really nice sweater
73% acryl
27% wool

Sounds pretty warm to me

I love the oversized part. Looks really cute. Only I have a feeling that it's missing something, so maybe I should sew on a bow or something?

This sweater is absolutely wearable even though it was from my dad. I'd say, start nosing in your parents' closet and maybe you'll find some really nice clothes which they don't wear any more and start pimping!

Talking about pimping things, making clothes yourself. I'm crocheting a scarf at the moment. Unfortunately my ball of wool is already finished (was too active in crocheting last night)
Gotta go to the action to buy some new. But due to the snow that'll be difficult, can't go anywhere like this (>.<)

Anyways, I started yesterday evening or so and this is what I ended up with after a whole evening crocheting till like 0.00 h or so?
I know it isn't really straight, but it's my first try so...
It's not like anyone would notice when you wrap the scarf around your neck. It's still a lot cheaper than buying one yourself. Of course it'll take time, everything takes time but when you finish it'll give that really proud feeling and I also think it's very relaxing. You could do it while watching TV :D Let's get creative!

xoxo-ies!

Wish List Winter 2010: Clothes

My motto for this winter: stay warm! To do this I want to buy new clothes, preferably warm and cute ones. Like knit sweaters.

This one is so cute! It has rabbits :3 Only the colour... red could be too striking for me >.< but their only other colours are black and since black is also the colour of my hair I'd rather not wear many black clothes. And green, is not really my colour *sigh* am I a picky person?

The thing is with knits. I have the feeling they are quite expensive >_< especiallly if they're wool. I'm such a supporter of low-budget. But if it's really nice, warm and cute I'll try and convince my dad :D

I want Nordic print leggings! I think they are really different from just normal uni-coloured leggings. And I haven't seen anyone in my neighbourhood walking around with that :D If you want warm ones, you'll have to spend more because of the wool (damn... low-budget) Still figuring out where I should buy some though, I sometimes feel bad for my dad because he has to pay all my stuff (and yes, I should probably start finding a part-time job =_=) It'll also be quite a problem if it's a "one-size fits all" Well, it won't fit me, trust me. My legs are short (and chubby) :(

Yay for hats! They look cute and are nice and warm. But instead of buying one I might have to try crocheting one? Could be a lot cheaper. Or I could steal hats from my dad :D

Lol, I get the feeling I mentioned my dad quite a few times. Well, he earns the money so...

In the Christmas Holiday I also want to crochet a circle scarf :D Why pay so much when you can make it yourself?

xoxo

Winter

It's a fact. Climate is changing: winters are getting colder and colder, summers will be drier and drier. The dry weather in the summer I can handle. But cold winters are still getting me, especially snow.

In the winter I always get like swollen toes that start itching and become a bit painful. My feet are easily cold so I wear nice and warm socks =D

I recently got these nice and warm socks :3

(Sorry for the bad quality >.< I have to start learning how to make nice photos and borrow my dad's camera)

These socks are:
  • 40% angora (it's a more fancy wool and won't easily wear down)
  • 30% wool
  • 30% polamid
Sounds nice and warm :3

(this picture was not from me, I found this on the internet)

As for sweaters and so on. Knits are warm and with luck you can find a cute one :D Personally I think oversized sweaters are really cute, and a way to hide my tummy >.<

I want to buy therm leggings/tights. Seem so warm and enables me to wear shorts/skirts when it's colder. But when it gets real cold like around -10 C I will just wear jeans with therm underwear underneath :3

Keep yourself and your feet warm ;)

Hello people out there!

Hello guys!

So, yet another blogger here. I know there are already millions of bloggers out there. Still I decided to start one as well.

Why? Blogging can be my way of sharing things with other people. The place where I can let out all my inspirations.

I'm a pretty random person and haven't found a real main topic for my blog (is this bad? :'))

I'm in the "phase" of finding my true self (?). Maybe this blog could help me finding it.

So... a quick review:
Who: A girl named Dominique, 14-years young.

Excuse me if I don't use correct English words. It's not my native language and I'm not good enough to only write correct sentences (well, even native speakers can write incorrect sentences). Still, try to bear with me :3 and:

Yoroshiku~ (let's work hard!)
